There were 6,524 adults and 3,873 children in this group.
The data showed how “fast these things get normalised,” according to Wayne Stanley, national spokesman for the Simon Communities homeless charity, who added that the fact that more than 10,000 people were living in emergency housing had “lost its shock value.”
